Den 4, Wolves

February

Feb 15th, Blue and Gold Ceremony. Our scouts that earned their Wolf rank were presented with their badge, card and parent pin. [Wolf Badge, yeah!]

Feb 10th, Den meeting. Flexible activities to finish up Wolf achievements so that we all have opportunity be part of the Blue & Gold badge ceremony.

Feb 7, Scout Sunday, in uniform at our charter church, Campbell United Methodist. We handed out programs, open doors and spread goodwill. [11a, 11d]

Feb 8 is the 100th Anniversary of Scouting in the United States and we are asking all Scouts to please wear their uniforms to school that day!

Feb 6th, Den meeting. Short presentations from each Scout of their collections. We also worked on our Blue and Gold placemats and centerpiece. [6a, 6b, 6c]

January

Jan 25, Pack meeting.

Jan 9, Den meeting. Lowe's kids project. We constructed a money bank project which counts for achievement [5e].

December

Dec 21, Pack meeting.

Dec 12, Helping at Church Breakfast. The scouts helped out at our charter organization, Campbell United Methodist Church by busing tables and keep the tables wiped clean. We got kudos for the hard work and happy faces. [11d]

Dec 9, Den meeting. We created two kinds of secret codes: 1) invisible writing and cipher wheels. We learned that their are people who decrypt codes for a living and solved an actual FBI code. For another kind of code, we learned about computer codes and saw that ones and zeros make a code computer code. [elective 1a, 1b], [elective 21a, 21b, 21c]

Dec 5, Den meeting. We looked over a garage full of tools and discussed their uses and were able to identify them by name. We demonstrated the use of screwdrivers, pliers, and hammers. We will be going to Lowes or Home Depot next month to actually build a project to complete the final achievement [5e]. The boys went over road safety and also bike safety. Homework activity is to come up with a chore chart and track progress for one month; this is achievement [4e]. [5a, 5b, 5c, 5d], [9d, 9e].

November

Nov 19, Badge Bonanza at the Nature Center. Games and activities about birds [elective 13d,13e]

Nov 16, Pack meeting Uniform inspections and pictures. Tyler, Calix and Kaelen were awarded their Bobcat badge during the Bobcat ceremony.

Nov 11, Den Meeting. We worked on achievements 2 and 3, talking about the our flag and country and then discussed healthy habits for the scouts. Homework activity is to track for two weeks the suggested items for achievement [3a]. Homework activity is to complete all on achievement "Your Living World" [7a,b,c,d,e,f]. [2a, 2b, 2c, 2d], [3b, 3c].

Nov 7, Veterans Day Parade. We spread cheer and goodwill to American's veterans.

October

Oct 19, Pack Meeting Halloween games

Oct 4, Den Meeting. We met at the Nature Center to do a nature hike with wilderness bingo. After the hike, we stayed to participate in the Primitive Skills day events.

September

Sept 21, Pack Meeting. This month, we were the color guard for the pack meeting opening and closing. Popcorn sales have started, so make sure you all have the order forms and are reminding your boys of the importance of selling popcorn to fund the pack and the individual boy's accounts for the year. We had signup sheets for the October pack meeting games for adult volunteers. [2b], [elective 1f]

Sept 18-19, Fall Family Campout. Most of our pack camped at Ritter Springs park. We had a great campfire event, did a night hike, canoed, geocached, played ultimate frisbee [ultimate belt loop]. [8d], [2f], [10c], [e1ective 11f], [e1ective 17a,b,e], [e1ective 19c,f], [e1ective 20b], [e1ective 23a,d,g]

Sept 14, New Members Den Meeting. Met with parents and new scouts. We went over all the Bobcat badge requirements and explained uniform wear and patches.

Sept 9, Den Meeting. First den meeting of the scout year. We went over the book and uniform requirements and traced the scouts hands to add on to the back of our Den flag. We also practiced the opening flag ceremony for the upcoming pack meeting.
