Learn about Hawaii, our 50th State, its culture, customs, games, language and food. Discover how the first Hawaiians came to the islands more than 1500 years ago or that surfing originated in Hawaii. Learn how Hawaii was a separate country, ruled by its own kings and queens until 1893. Learn to speak the language, practice saying hello, thank you and the Cub Scout Promise in native Hawaiian. Try a special Hawaiian treat such as “shave ice” for your meeting snack. Make a lei from flowers to present to a family member. Play a Hawaiian game like Konami (Hawaiian checkers) or ulumaika (a game similar to lawn bowling). Have a luau theme for your pack meeting or Blue & Gold banquet this month
